Also known as The IT Paradigmologist, Mark Smalley thinks, writes and speaks extensively about IT ‘paradigms’ such as DevOps. His main substantive interests are the digital enterprise, IT operating models, value of IT, business-IT relationships, co-creation of value, multidisciplinary collaboration, and working with complexity. He also enjoys connecting people, leveraging an extensive network.
Mark fulfils various roles. At Smalley.IT he is an IT Management Consultant, helping people to discover where they are and to visualize where they want to be. He is Global Ambassador at the non-profit ASL BiSL Foundation, where he has shared knowledge with thousands of IT practitioners in various global communities including governance of IT, enterprise architecture, business analysis, business information management, application development and management, and IT service management. Mark is one of GamingWorks’ delivery partners for The Phoenix Project DevOps business simulation and he also gives DevOps Introductions courses.
In his new role at DASA, Mark will spread the word about how organisations and individuals can develop competences that bring them a better return on their DevOps investments in IT.
He has delivered DevOps keynotes, presentations and workshops at events such as DevOpsDays in Amsterdam, Riga and Shanghai, Agile Consortium Driebergen, Øredev Malmö, DevOpsPro Vilnius, Baltic DevOps Tallinn, and BPMA Beijing.
