Why has DASA introduced a major update of DASA DevOps Fundamentals?
DASA has introduced an update to address market needs. Everyone was looking for a lightweight course having an awesome flow (course structure) that can be easily understood. Keeping this feedback in mind and doing a thorough analysis, DASA’s editorial team came up with this new version.

How is DASA DevOps Fundamentals 2 Syllabus different from the previous version 1?

The primary impact is on the course structure or content flow. The previous version was structured around how DevOps redefines the IT aspects: Processes, Organization, Culture, and Automation. Version 2 is structured more like a journey for a DevOps professional: Setting the DevOps Context; DevOps for Individuals; DevOps for Teams and Organizations; and the next steps.

Other than the structure, some of the concepts are added (such as DevOps at Scale), updated (such as ITIL), and removed (such as the Three Horizons Model).

Is the certification exam associated with DASA DevOps Fundamentals 2 different from the previous version 1?
Version 2 of DASA DevOps Fundamentals is associated with a different exam. DASA’s editorial team is in the process of updating the exams as well. The major update of exams will be available soon in the market.

Is the exam expected to take place at the end of the program or it can be taken later?
DASA does not recommend attempting the exam at the end of the program/training. Learners need some time to go through the concepts to prepare for the certification exams. DASA recommends attempting the exams within 10 days (the best retention time) after the completion of the program.

How long will the version 1 of the syllabus be available in the market?
We recognize that DASA Training Partners schedule classes in advance. Keeping this in mind, DASA will continue to offer 1 until the end of 2020.

Is it possible to take only the DASA DevOps Fundamentals exams and not the courseware?
The exams are available only in combination with courseware.

Do DASA DevOps Fundamentals Certified professionals need to get certified again?
The certifications of already certified DASA DevOps Fundamentals professionals are still valid. They do not need to attempt the exam again to get certified. However, DASA recommends them to go through the required concepts to better understand the new course structure.

Will DASA DevOps Fundamentals 2 impact the syllabi of other courses in the certification scheme?
The 2 syllabus does not impact any other syllabi of the DASA courses.

Will trainers need to pass the certification exam again?
DASA recommends the trainers to attempt the exam again. Being trainers, they should keep themselves updated about the core concepts. Moreover, they are the first point of sharing experiences about the exams with the learners. However, it is not mandatory.

Are there other major updates planned for other DASA courses?
Considering the market needs, DASA will be updating the courses from time-to-time.
